Claire, an Iowa native, attended Iowa State University, acquiring a Bachelor of Sciences degree in 1975. Upon graduating from Iowa State University, Claire enrolled at Drake University Law School and graduated with honors in 1977.
Following law school, Claire began practicing as an attorney at Elgin, Hoyman & Clogg (former name of Elgin, Patin & Strong, PLLC) in the areas of family law, real estate, estate planning, and taxation. Since beginning her career as an attorney, Claire has since narrowed her practice areas to include estate planning, trust administration and probate, real estate, and corporate/business law.
Claire has been a frequent speaker over the years on various estate planning topics. Claire has previously served as President of the Warren County Bar Association. She has also been a long-time member of the Iowa State Bar Association Probate Section and Real Estate Section, as well as the Iowa Trust and Estate Planning Council.
Claire has been a member of the Indianola community for 40 years. Outside of the office, Claire enjoys traveling within the United States, Canada, and Europe. She is an avid reader and also enjoys spending time cooking with family and friends. Claire is very active in her church and has served as a Trustee and member of the Finance Committee and Building Committee.
